Hello,
Setting the node_desc in winOFED 2.2.1 (or any winOFED release) is not possible as there is no exposed user-mode API to perform this function.
The HCA driver sets default name.
Past discussions have illuminated this lack of functionality and so far no one has stepped up to generate patches for the lacking functionality.
